Akidat is a UK-based handmade lifestyle brand that has grown out of Loughborough. Our co-founder, Shradha, is based here, and Loughborough has been an important part of Akidat's journey from the very beginning. What started as a small idea has grown into a colourful community-led brand, with our products now reaching customers across the UK.
While Akidat is based in Loughborough, our products are handmade by artisans in India. They are trained and guided under the care of our co-founder and creative head, Anitha, whose own connection with Indian craft began when she was a child.

You'll often find us at local markets, pop-ups and events around Loughborough, bringing along our colourful handmade bags, Koodai, accessories, jewellery and other pieces.
We love being able to meet people face-to-face, hear what they think about our designs, discover which colours they gravitate towards and, of course, watch someone walk away with a bag they initially insisted they "didn't need". Our artisans are trained under Anitha's guidance, learning and developing their craft while creating the pieces that eventually make their way to customers here in the UK.
